Thursday Specials - October 6, 2011

It's always fun visiting the Produce Barn when Joann and Rolo return from the Plant City Farmers Market.

Because of the changes in weather patterns along the eastern seaboard, harvests have changed, and some of the regular items they pick up weren't readily available. However, after much walking in the market, and lots of diligence, the following wonderful items were found.

Super firm, crunchy, flavorful Green and Red Bell Peppers! I ate one green one like it was an apple! YUMMY! (Our Salad tasted delicious tonight with lots of fresh flavors!)
Tomatoes
Regular and Pickling cucumbers
Eggplant
Butternut Squash - check out the recipe below by clicking here.
Radishes
Scallions
Very fresh Romaine - firm leaves and extra flavorful

Pesticide-free Zucchini fresh from Beasley Farm

.

Fruits:
Plums
Bananas
Fuji Apples from Maryland

.
.
Rolo will be in Spring Hill on Friday - regular hours.

On Saturday, The Beasley duelers will be at the Hernando County Farmers Market, in front of Sears.

(for more information about these locations, please see the top right column)

As always, the Produce Barn is open everyday until 6PM.
