Beasley Farm Update

 Happy New Year!  Its been a bit since I have posted a farm update,  We are back on our regular hours of open on Sunday Monday and Tuesday for the $10.00 Produce box . We are also open on Wednesday but no Produce box, you can choose from our displays.  We are open 8 am to 5pm.  

We have finished with our mustard greens, and finishing up with our collard greens.  We have been pulling turnips and our white daikon radishes. Two new fields of our organically grown kale in. One is a flat leaf and the other is the curly. Swiss chard is coming along, maybe some by the weekend if not quite big enough it won't be too long.  Our baby romaine is coming along nicely as well! We have the Florida tomatoes in the Produce barn so check those out along with other veggies.

Beasley Farm Update ; Monthy Market this Saturday and Sunday & Senior Free Produce Bundle Planned for Tuesday

 Hi Folks! Just sending an update for the farm. 

This weekend Saturday and Sunday is our Monthly Market from 10 to 5pm.  No entry fee, no parking fee.  All parking up front as the back is full of vendors and food trucks.  Its sure to be alot of fun so come and enjoy the farm day.  The Produce Barn will be open with specials as well, including our $10 Produce box.

We have a full list of vendors, more than ever before so come and see everything they have to offer.  Its a great time to support locals.  We appreciate that!  

So then on Tuesday we are planning to have the FREE Senior Bundle Day!  Please check back for hours. The requirments are listed on our form. Must be 60 years or older, live in Hernando , Pasco, Citrus or Sumter county and m onthly income per person is $1,986 for two people in house is $2,686.

Seniors watch for the Produce Bundle Day coming soon!

 Seniors 60 years old and older who are eligible for the vouchers can now get the free produce in our Produce Bundle day.  Please follow us on fb if possible or watch for the emails, or even call the farm as we are planning it for this month.  Possibly soon, I will post when all arrangements are made.  Don't miss out! 

We are open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6pm, putting together our $10 Produce Box and also open on Wednesday, but no box that day as you can choose from our Produce barn display.

Mark your calendars for our Monthly Market here at the Farm.  We have alot of vendors and food trucks booked for Saturday and Sunday November 13th and 14th. Its a 10 to 5 event both days.  We have really nice vendors and its just a fun day. No entry fee, and no parking fee. So plan to come and enjoy some farm time.

New Hours this weekend only

 Last Sunday we sold out of the $3.00 orange pumpkins fast so now we have some more of them and will be open this Saturday , Sunday, Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday 8 to 6pm.  Normally we are closed on Saturdays.  We will have our Produce barn open and also our $10.00 Produce box, our $1.00 upick on sunflowers, and your welcome to go see our beautiful ground cover. Its 8 to 10 ft tall full of thousands of yellow flowers! So come enjoy the day at the farm! No entry fee and no parking fee.  We also have the white pumpkins and the $5.00 orange ones too! We have lots and lots of local vendors, with a variety of so much to look at!  Food, desserts and 

sno cones, kettle corn, loaded fries, cotton candy, boiled peanuts, kettle corn and more!

Plus PUMPKINS, white or orange ones PLUS

while supplies last you will get a free baseball size pumpkin in our $10.00 Produce box! We will have our 10.00 Produce box available Saturday as well as Sunday with tomatoes, roma tomatoes, squash, green peppers, sweet peppers, cucumbers, fat cucumbers, pickles, mini sweets, carrots , onions , green onions and while they last we are giving you a free pumpkin.  Check out the back table , my daughters have painted some of them up and they are so cute.  The painted ones are not for sale as its just a display for all to see what a difference a being a little crafty can do. 

We have made a cute area for you to take your fall pictures on our haybale couch , decorated for fall .

All parking , (no fee to park or enter) is up front so we had room for all our vendors and we have a bunch of them .

It's October, time to decorate for fall!

Its finally October, time to decorate for fall and enjoy the little cooler mornings and evenings! We have the perfect size decorating pumpkins too. We have the cute little white ones, and of course the orange ones, and this weekend we also have the plump mini pumpkins too! Our Produce barn is fully decorated with them.  They are all $5.00 white or orange. Of course this Sunday Monday and Tuesday we have a great $10.00 Produce box as well.  The barn has other produce for you to choose from.  

Field update:  We have been super busy replanting all the fall/winter crops that took on too much water last month.  They did not get a good start so we decided to replant.  Some of our fall greens may be a bit later this year because of this but over all it was the right decision.  

Next weekend Oct 9 and 10 from 10 to 5 we will have our October Market with all the vendors.  We have alot of vendors signed up and food and desserts of all kinds too so come join us.  NO parking or entry fee, just come enjoy the day.We are not normally open on Saturdays but always the second Sat and Sun of the month we are for the market.

Seniors- the senior vouchers are expired so we hope you have used them.  We do plan on having one more senior produce day this year, no date set yet. Probably mid November , I will post date as soon as its set so follow this blog or Beasley farm facebook as its a one day event.

Beasley Farm Update

 The pumpkins are here! Time to decorate for fall.  We have both orange and white pumpkins in our Produce Barn.  All pumpkins this week are $5.00 each, white or orange.  Perfect for decorating. We also have our $10.00 Produce box available on Sunday Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6pm.  It contains tomatoes, roma tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, sweet peppers, squash, carrots, onions, pickles, mini sweets, green onions and fat cucumbers.  At checkout if you like jalopenas Rolo will give you those as well. Our fields are still holding water so it is very possible we will have to do some replanting of the fall crops we have planted.  It may be a drier week so we will decide what to do soon, in any case our greens will be a little late this year.  If you still have your senior vouchers you need to come use them as they expire on October 2nd.  We will have a free produce senior bundle one more time this year, looking like late Oct or November. I will keep you posted on that.

Our next Farmers market here at the farm is October 9th and 10th, always the second Saturday and Sunday of the Month.  We will have the vendors here , all parking up front. No parking fee and no entry fee. Beasley Farm Update

 Beasley Farm Update:

We are back from our summer break and back on our regular schedule. Our hours are:

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6pm, farm open and offering the $10.00 Produce box.  Plus the Produce barn has a variety for you to choose from as well. We are open 8 to 6pm on Wednesday too but no $10 box available on Wed.  

We are closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as those are our field days.  Except for the second Saturday and Sunday of the month we have our Farmers Market with all of our wonderful vendors and more! 

This Sunday our Pumpkins are here! Yep it is the start of fall already even tho we seem to be 90 degrees. 

Our next upick will be on our green beans, then later sunflowers. Neither of these are quite ready they are still growing, all the rain has slowed things up for us to get in the fields and work with our fall crops. We will keep you informed of field progress

Senior Vouchers: If you still have the blue senior voucher checks stop by the farm before Oct 2nd, as they expire then. Be sure to use them before they expire.  Also we have just been informed we can have another Senior Produce Bundle this year.  We are thinking mid Oct or beginning of Nov.  No dates set as of yet but watch my post on here, or facebook or even call the farm.  This is a don't miss one, more vendors  than our other markets in the past!!! Over 30 vendors and food trucks, plenty to eat as there will be the food trucks, boiled peanuts, cotton candy, sno cones, and of course our Kenny will have the First Responder Kettle Corn, we will have some baked goods available also, hot dogs and more. So definitely come hungry!

So many vendors to visit with and see their goods and quite a variety, crafts, hand made canes, plants, cleaning products, pampered chef,  olive oils, soaps, hand made cups, paper made beautiful flowers, children's handmade clothes,  crafts, jewelry, micro-greens, freshies for your car, cowhides, leather goods and so much more. Also there will be vendors to discuss solar , new windows and more. Just a wide variety this market. 

Of course, stop in the Produce barn and pick up your fresh produce. The $10.00 Produce box will be available Saturday and Sunday if you would like one, just ask Rolo at checkout.  Please take notice of the Produce Barn , it has had a little make over and also decorated for fall.  We now have many new products to go along with your cooking. Check it out too.

No entry fee, no parking fee.  All parking is up front so theres room for all the vendors. Come enjoy the fresh air, take your time, stroll around the farm. Don't forget to say hi to all our farm animals, they love all the attention and missed it when we were on summer break.

 Beasley Farm ReOpens tomorrow Sunday August 29th.  We will be back to our regular schedule of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6 pm . We will offer our special 10.00 Produce box on those days. We are also open Wednesday but no box that day. Then closed Thursday Friday and Saturday for our field days. August Update for the farm

 Hello, Just a quick update. We are closed for the summer break the month of August. We are updating our Produce Barn and trying to prepare the fields for fall planting, in paticular trying to get the collards in. Both field work and painting barn floor have been quite the challenge with the rain coming in daily! We are trying our best.  We plan to reopen the last Sunday of August, the 29th . Please follow our Beasley Farm facebook or check this blog for farm updates.  We were told this blogger would no  longer be working from July forward , not exactly sure on why. This is a favorite box including 2 Sweet Corn, 2 Tomatoes, 2 Roma Tomatoes, 2 Zucchini Squash and 1 Yellow Squash, 2 Cucumbers, 2 Pickles, 2 Green Peppers, 2 Sweet Peppers, 2 Carrots, 2 Onions and Green Onions. At checkout if you like jalopenas we will give you 2 as well. This is a great deal! Don't miss out. We have other produce in our Produce Barn to choose from as well. Today we harvested beets and carrots, check them out. Great for roasted vegetables, so good!

Shelled Blackeyes and Conch peas are in two pound quart freezer bags 10.00 bag, We have a few zipper peas in one pound bags for $5.00 too.  Get them now as we are out come the holidays so put them in your freezer for Thanksgiving and Christmas and of course blackeyes for New Years Day!

Our Sunflowers are $1.00 flower, upick. Bring your own clippers. This field is coming to an end, but there are still plenty of sunflowers to choose from.

 We are putting together the favorite $10.00 Produce box for Sunday Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6pm at Beasley Farm. It includes Tomatoes, Roma Tomatoes, Bicolor Sweet Corn, Zucchini and Yellow Squash Green Peppers, Sweet Peppers, Cucumbers, Fat Pickles, Carrots, Onions, Green Onions and Jalopenas if you like them.  Also in the Produce barn is a variety for you to choose from including our fresh beets and pulled carrots, grown organically. Last week to get your unshelled zipper peas too. Looking forward to conch and blackeyes next week, those will be only available shelled and you can call and put your order in for those if you like.  Its raining right now so depending on our field conditions we have our upick sunflowers, bring your own clippers and our last patch of green beans are in. It is not nearly as good as a producer as the first one so we will check that field out and let you know how its looking for upick too.

This is a once a year event thru the Senior Enrichment Center.  They will be at the farm tomorrow and see them first to sign in.  We will be making your free produce bundles from 9 am to 2pm, at the Produce barn we are going to ask you to put it in your bag and leave the basket on the table. Your Produce basket will be full of a variety of fresh Florida Produce. If there is something in there you happen not to like you can take it and give it to a friend, or if you wish to leave it we will give it to another senior.  No trading, exchanging etc.

Sunday we will have Kenny popping fresh kettle corn and *NEW* snowcones!

Sunday Josh will be here with his smoker making his delicious BBQ meals which come with 2 sides and sweet or unsweet tea.  (BBQ is here every sunday, only sundays)

We have Sunflowers which we opened for a U-Pick $1.00 a Flower head. ***Please bring a clippers to cut these with we no longer provide these***

UPICK GREEN BEANS , FIELD OPENS TOMORROW SATURDAY AT 10 AM

 Hello Everyone,  Guess What?  We will be OPEN tomorrow Saturday which is normally our closed field day but because our GREEN BEANS decided to have a growth spurt we are opening a day early so you can enjoy the UPICK. The Produce barn will be open for shopping, no $10.00 Produce box as that is on Sunday Monday and Tuesday . We have more seedless watermelons and fresh sweet bicolor sweet corn, and a wide variety for you to choose from. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash carrots beets and more!

There are specific hours for green bean upick. These are non gmo , pesticide free green beans, grown organically.  To keep plants healthy they must be completely dry before touching them so that is why you will not be able to enter fields before 10 am. Our upick is 10 am to 6pm. There is no time limit and our fields are very peaceful so why rush, enjoy it take your time, get lots of fresh air, some vitamin D from the sun and delicious organically grown green beans which don't get any fresher than this!

Price: same as last year $5.00 picking bucket.  We supply the bucket for you, when done picking bring the bucket to the counter we will bag them for you. If you don't pick a full bucket it will be less of course.

Drinks available in cooler in barn but you can bring your own, dress for field picking and you can of course use your sun screen lotion. These are bush plants low to ground so if you want to bring a little stool you may do that too.

HOMETOWN MARKET AT THE FARM SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

 This weekend is our Hometown Market at Beasley Farm 10 to 5pm.  We will have lots of vendors, food trucks, kettle corn , our Produce Barn is open and we will have the $10.00 Produce box. Plus the Produce barn will be fully stocked with a nice variety for you tp choose from. The pony rides for the kids will be on Sunday only. If you have facebook check out the Hometown market page for pictures of some of our vendors.  It will be fun! 

Of course if you can't make it this weekend, we have our box on Monday and Tuesday too. The Senior Voucher sign up is this Monday at Gary Grubbs Enrichment Center . This time they are also including Pasco and Sumter counties.

FARM UPDATE FROM BEASLEY FARM BROOKSVILLE

 Just a little update and some farm info. The farm is open on Sunday Monday and Tuesday for our $10.00 Produce box special from 8 to 6pm. Other produce also available in our Produce Barn. The farm is also open Wednesday but no box special that day. Our farm is closed on Thursday Friday and Saturday, those our field days for us. We do not go off the farm to markets anymore, we have our own Hometown Market always on the second weekend of the month. On that weekend we are open on Saturday and even have the special that day. Plus 40ish some vendors are at the farm, local folks with their beautiful things, food trucks, kettle corn, ice cream, boiled peanuts, and pony rides for the kids too! Besides all of our own farm animals to visit! Its a lot of fun so check it out, next one is April 10th and 11th. The hours for our Hometown Market is 10 to 5pm.

Seniors: Senior Vouchers coming out sometime in April . I don't have the date yet but I will post, don't miss out as its 40.00 in free produce for you Hernando County resident seniors 60 and over.

$10.00 Produce Box at the farm Sunday Monday & Tuesday

 We are putting together our $10.00 Produce box at the farm for today 8 to 6pm. It will include: Fresh bunch of Swiss Chard, 3 Tomatoes, 2 Squash, 2 Green Peppers, 2 Sweet Peppers, 2 Cucumbers, 2 Carrots, 2 Sweet Onions, Green Onions and Daikon White Radish. Also if you like jalopena peppers we will give you some of those too!

We make the $10 Produce Box on Sunday Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6pm. We have a variety of other produce for you to choose from as well. 

Next weekend is our Hometown Market on Saturday and Sunday 10 to 5. Many vendors and even pony rides for the kids!

and if you like jalopenas we will give you some of those at checkout!

The farm is open Sunday Monday and Tuesday 8 to 6pm for the $10.00 Produce Box special. We are also open on Wednesday just no box available that day.  We have cut some greens for the barn, swiss chard, spinach, kale and daikon radishes.  I attempted to put the pics of this on this screen but obviously my computer skills are lacking as you can see this is not a pic of greens or the box, and two pics of tomatoes on top of it.  Oh well not an office person put me back in the field. lol  Just come to the farm and you can see how beautiful our veggies are. Also mark your calendars our next Hometown market is Feb 13th and 14th 10 to 5. If you want to be a vendor Jessica dropped off the paperwork so we now have some at the farm for you, so you can get your spot that way.  On Sunday Monday and Tuesday at the farm we put together the $10.00 Produce box. Last week we tried something new with giving you a choice with zucchini and eggplant and everyone seemed to like it. So we will be doing it again these box days with eggplant and yellow squash. We have received many requests for eggplant to be in our box but we were hesitant as many folks say they either don't like it or know what to do with it. So hopefully this can make everyone happy with the choice, at checkout. No need to call or order in advance.  We also will have greens for you to purchase like spinach, swiss chard, kale and baby bok choy. Also maybe some daikons will be ready after our little rain this morning. So thank you for supporting your local farmers, we work hard to bring you the best and freshest we can.

Beautiful rain this morning , we will also be picking fresh mustard and collard greens. Plus more produce in our Produce Barn for you to choose from.
