About Us - Pesticide Free

Do you live in central west Florida? So do we!

Joann and Rolo enjoy spending their days in the Florida Sunshine, bringing the best quality produce to their home town and surrounding communities.
Just 4 miles northwest of Mondon Hill Road and Highway 50, Brooksville boasts a real "old-time" farm complete with antique tractors - we call this place Home Sweet Home. You are cordially invited to discover the fresh and wholesome produce at Beasley Farm where sustainable farming methods are practiced, children and adults are welcome to socialize under beautiful lazy oaks, taking in the lovely scenery, talking with a gentle horse, enjoying the company of cows, listening to chickens, and viewing bountiful fields of green. Located at 10137 Preston Rd just off Mondon Hill Road between Hwy. 41 and Hwy. 50, the Produce Barn is open daily until 6 PM. We grow an assortment of vegetables, and offer even more from Plant City's Farmers Market. Special Orders are welcome. Feel free to phone us at 352-799-6752.

About our bees: On January 16, 2012, Lisa Reynes (an apiary specialist) from the Florida Dept of Agriculture came to the farm to inspect our bee hives. We are pleased to say that Beasley bees are healthy and happy! A very good report, indeed! Researchers are finding that bees who enjoy a diversity of crops from which to gather nectar actually possess healthier immune systems!

a sustainable farming experience
Sustainable Farming Techniques can be interpreted differently by farmers. Our interpretation includes treating the environment with the utmost respect, using as few chemicals as possible, avoiding pesticides, composting with as many organic compounds as we can lay our hands on, and treating our farm animals with great respect and gentleness.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services treated us to an unexpected visit on October 5, 2011, to test for 179 different chemical residues including hazardous pesticides, trace pesticides and other harmful residues. We are happy to announce that once again our Chemical Residue Analysis Report confirmed the following:  "in compliance with Florida Statute chapter 500,  no pesticides detected." It's always a pleasure sharing our happy news with you!

On December 1, 2010, we welcomed a surprise visit from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Periodically, the FLDACS tests farms to detect trace pesticides, hazardous pesticides, and other harmful residues. We are pleased to share our official results with you. After testing our farm for 175 different pesticides, the Chemical Residue Analysis Report confirmed the following: "in compliance with Florida Statute chapter 500,  no pesticides detected." It was an interesting experience and we are grateful that FLDACS protects the Florida consumer by periodically verifying the products grown in Florida. We're happy to share the information with you, too!
